Microsoft has acquired Fast Search and Transfer ASA, a Norwegian  data search technology company. Fast Search is located in Oslo and it is believed that this acquisition by Microsoft will greatly help the company's Live search engine. Fast Search has been in the search engine industry for a while, the company developed AllTheWeb and later sold the search engine to Overture in 2003. We will have to wait and see how this deal turns out for Microsoft, so stay tuned.
