According to its website, TopHosts chooses its Top 25 web hosts on a monthly basis, sorting through "numerous applications from hosting companies," putting each company though "rigorous production testing". TopHosts combines this research with user feedback of the "hundreds of thousands of webmasters that visit TopHosts.com on a regular basis" to determine what hosting companies are named as the industry's best each month.

In addition to the TopHosts award, Aplus.Net was also named among Topseos.com’s Top 5 Best Search Engine Marketing Hosts, marking its fourth consecutive month in that company’s Top 5. According to TopSeos.com, the listings are based on quality of services, pricing, innovation, customer and technical support, and overall efficiency and performance.
